Are you bothered with IELTS test?
Well, we all have heard of this examination and why it bothers a lot of individuals,
specifically the ones planning to go abroad. IELTS or International English
Language Testing System is taken specifically by people who aspire to study,
work, or migrate and settle permanently in foreign lands. This is a minimal
passing criteria put up by various English speaking countries so as to ensure
that anyone who is approved to work, study or stay in their respective country
is proficient in English language. Thus, it is an international standardized
examination that measures an individual’s English proficiency upon four
language skills i.e. listening, reading, writing, and speaking.
IELTS Training Types
In fact, the IELTS test is
composed of two types - the general and academic.
General training is intended for
those individuals who aspire to gain experience and train for work or plan to
move and settle permanently abroad.
Academic is specifically for
individuals who aspire to study abroad. It is very valuable for physicians and
nurses who aspire to pursue their further studies in foreign countries. Various
countries like Canada, United States, New Zealand, Australia and UK are amongst
a few of those who recognize and accept doctors for work or study, but they
also have a minimal score required for the IELTS examination. Thus, one should
endeavor to score a good band score and a better outcome.
IELTS Exams
One needs to keep in mind that you
will have to go appear and complete four sections of tests in an IELTS test -
listening, reading, speaking and writing examinations. And this can be
completed efficiently if you select a comprehensive IELTS training.
While in the listening section of
the test, you will be provided an audio clip which will be played just once. So
one has to be focused and attentive the
audio so you can take down notes on important details. There is a basic 30-minute-time
for this. Right after listening to the
audio file, you will be provided sets of questions to answer.
For the reading section, a sum
total of 3 passages or texts will be given as reading material and one need to comprehend
the meaning of each article. A sum of 40
questions to respond to and should be completed within an hour.
The speaking examination will
have three sets - interview, brief speech then discussion. You'll need to
undertake these 3 sets for 15 minutes in total. The interview includes
questions that would generally allow them to understand more about you. The
brief speech will allow them to determine how good you are in revealing your
viewpoint; and the last part of the conversation, will provide them an insight
about their comfort and confidence.
The writing part has two parts -
one for detailed composition and the other one, an essay. The first one just
requires 150 words and will have you interpret something, like a graph or a
table with information. The next part is a 250-word essay that will enable you
to reveal yourself by way of writing based on an offered agenda or subject.
